What's happening in cybersecurity
Seychelles has taken a significant leap forward in safeguarding its national digital infrastructure with the official launch of the National Computer Emergency Response Team - Seychelles (CERT-SC).
The landmark initiative was unveiled at a launch event held on Wednesday, 30th July 2025, at the Eden Bleu Hotel. The event was attended by key stakeholders from across Seychelles' Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) sectors, underscoring the collaborative approach central to the new entity's mission.
Operating under the Department of Information Communications Technology (DICT), CERT-SC is charged with leading the country's efforts in cyber threat monitoring, incident tracking, and building national cybersecurity awareness.
The new national CERT will provide a comprehensive suite of services designed to be both reactive and proactive.
