Delegates from ITU in the country to undertake the National CIRT readiness assessment.
A team from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) was recently in Seychelles to carry out a National CIRT Readiness Assessment, a key step in strengthening the country’s cybersecurity capabilities.
As part of their visit, the ITU team met with the Department of Information Communications Technology (DICT) for an introductory meeting, followed by a two-day workshop with key national stakeholders.
The goal of the assessment is to evaluate Seychelles’ preparedness to establish, operate, or enhance a national Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT)—a critical component in managing and responding to cyber threats at the national level.
Assessing the existing cybersecurity environment to understand current capabilities and infrastructure.
Identifying gaps and requirements that need to be addressed to improve incident response.
Guiding the establishment or enhancement of a CIRT, including governance, procedures, and staffing.
Promoting coordination and collaboration among government bodies, private sector, and other stakeholders.
Improving national cyber resilience to better prevent, detect, and recover from cyber incidents.
Raising awareness and securing stakeholder buy-in to ensure collective commitment to cybersecurity goals.
This engagement reflects Seychelles' ongoing efforts to bolster its national cybersecurity readiness in line with international standards and best practices.
