In celebration of Safer Internet Day 2023, the Cyber Security Team took an important step in raising digital awareness by visiting English River Secondary School. The team conducted an engaging session with students, focusing on how to use the internet responsibly, safely, and mindfully in an increasingly connected world.

The interactive session aimed to equip students with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate the online space securely. Topics discussed included protecting personal information, recognizing online threats, dealing with cyberbullying, and the importance of thinking critically before sharing content online.

Students were encouraged to ask questions, share their experiences, and reflect on how their online behavior can affect both their safety and their digital reputation. The session also highlighted the importance of reporting suspicious activities and using strong passwords.

Safer Internet Day is a global initiative that promotes the safe and positive use of digital technology, especially among children and young people. By taking this message into schools, the Cyber Security Team is helping to build a culture of cybersecurity awareness from a young age.

The visit to English River Secondary is part of a broader effort to empower students to become responsible digital citizens and to foster a safer online environment for all.
